Residential Seoul. The kind of quiet you'll miss when you're back home.

Why SUYU, why now

수유동 is climbing SNS feeds in 2026 as Seoul's new 뉴트로 anchor, led by 삼양탕·삼양여관, a 1972 public bathhouse and inn turned cafe and guesthouse with its original stairs and vintage interiors intact. Seoul's own media hub spotlighted the neighborhood for this mix of working-class texture and creative energy.

1. Suyu Resort

Suyu Resort opens the course because you need daylight to see what the 뉴트로 wave is doing here. The cafe sits inside the kind of old residential fabric that defines 수유동, and morning is when the space is calm enough to notice the details. It sets the tone: preservation meeting present use, not performance.

Crew's note

수유동. You wouldn't find this yourself.

What visitors say

2. Suyuil Park

Suyuil Park closes the route because this is where 수유 locals land after work, and the course should end where the neighborhood's day does. It's a night-view spot, which means you stay through dusk and let the park's evening rhythm replace the cafe's. No agenda, just the shift from day to residential night.

Crew's note

수유 people come here after work. You won't see this in guides.

What visitors say

Suyu 1-dong's largest green space, a playground, and an outdoor space. Because it's used for multiple purposes, it hosts numerous events.

It's a great place for kids to play~ It's also great because adults can exercise together~

The walk between

The stretch between them is low-rise 수유동, the working-class blocks Seoul's media hub pointed to when they called this area trending. You'll pass the architecture that makes the neighborhood legible: walk it in late afternoon so you arrive at the park as light drops.

  • Start the cafe stop mid-morning so you have room to sit on one of the three floors without routing around crowds.
  • The park hosts neighborhood events, so if you catch one, the night-view timing shifts later. Plan the walk loose enough to let that happen.

FAQ

Does the course work if I only have a few hours?
Yes. The two stops are the structure; the walk between is short enough that you control the pace by how long you sit at each end. If you skip the между stop and go straight from cafe to park at dusk, you still get the arc from day to night.
Is the park busy at night?
It's a neighborhood green space used by locals and families, so foot traffic is steady but not packed. The multiple-use layout means you can find a bench away from the playground and event zones if you want separation.
