Oksu before everyone else finds the alley.

Why OKSU, why now

Oksu sits along the Han River between Geumho and Oksu stations, accumulating independent cafes, wine bars, and ateliers over the past year. Its steep hillside alleys and river views draw visitors looking for less-crowded alternatives.

1. Calf

Calf opens the course because afternoon needs fuel, and this is the kind of burger place you want on a slower day. It sits two minutes from Oksu Station Exit 6, quiet enough that you can settle in without a line. The truffle mushroom burger and sweet potato fries anchor the rest of the walk, a solid start before the alleys tilt upward.

Crew's note

옥수동. Not many people know this place yet.

2. PUSSYFOOT SALON

Pussyfoot Salon closes the course because night should feel like you've earned it. The basement space sits below street level in an art deco train setup, cocktails built for lingering, and by the time you're here the neighborhood has already gone still. This is the last stop, the one that keeps you underground a little longer.

Crew's note

I ordered already. Just try the prosciutto first.

One of my favorite bars in Seoul. Super slick and vibey space in the basement of building, themed to look like a sexy art deco luxury train.…

The walk between

The walk moves uphill from the station into the residential strips where the newer cafes and bars have started clustering. Oksu's alleys rise steeply, river glimpses appearing between apartment blocks, the kind of route that feels quieter than it should for being this close to the water.

  • Start Calf after 2 PM so you're not rushing lunch, and let the burger sit heavy enough to carry you through the afternoon.
  • Pussyfoot Salon's second floor train area runs a 200,000 won minimum order, so factor that in if you're heading upstairs with a group.

FAQ

How much should I budget for the two stops?
Calf's pricing sits around 10,800 won for the truffle option, 6,800 won for sides, and 3,000 won for drinks. The upstairs seating at Pussyfoot Salon requires a table spend of 200,000 won total, though the ground level has no such requirement and prices each cocktail separately.
Does this course work on weekdays or is it better saved for weekends?
Weekdays keep both stops calmer, and Oksu hasn't hit saturation yet, so you're less likely to queue even on Saturday afternoons. The neighborhood still reads as a local find, not a weekend pilgrimage spot.
