New Seoul. Clean, empty, a little lonely.

Why MAGOK, why now

Magok is brand-new Seoul with no old map to follow. With the 2026 Seoul Cafe & Bakery Fair set for COEX Magok and new spots clustering near Magok-Naru Station around LG Science Park, the west side is finally getting its own anchor, separate from the saturated east.

1. BAGELIST

First stop is BAGELIST because mornings here work better light. The bakery sits in a neighborhood still waking up, so you get the counter and the oven timer to yourself. This is the fuel: grab what you need, then let the rest of the day build around it.

Crew's note

마곡's kind of far, but you'll see why I come here.

2. Lake Garden

Lake Garden closes the course because this is where the route was always heading. By the time you arrive, the park is nearly empty on weekdays, and the fountain cycle becomes the only clock that matters. It's an observation deck by category, but really it's just a long lake with good shade and nowhere you need to be next.

Crew's note

Weekdays only. When it looks like this, you'll get it to yourself.

Absolutely lovely place to stop and have a picnic

The walk between

The stretch between them is wide sidewalks and glass towers, LG Science Park cutting clean lines against nothing much else yet. You're walking through a neighborhood still deciding what it wants to be.

  • At BAGELIST, take your bagel from the box on the left, pay, then use the microwave or oven yourself if you want it warm.
  • Plan for Lake Garden on a weekday afternoon if you want the park mostly to yourself; the fountain runs every hour, so time it if that matters to you.
