Too many people trying to look cool. We'll skip the main street.

Why GAROSUGIL, why now

Garosu-gil is trending again in May 2026 with DJI and Hasselblad's first Korea flagship opening on the 20th, plus new cafe spots including my favorite cookie from Busan making its Seoul debut. The strip is buzzing as a fashion, tech, and cafe destination.

1. Gongonescript Garosu-gil

This is where the course starts because you need somewhere to sit before the street fills up. Afternoons here work better than mornings. The tiramisu pairs well with the kind of coffee that doesn't need explaining, and the daylight through the windows sets a pace you can keep until dinner.

Crew's note

I got the tiramisu before you sat down.

What visitors say

Great coffee. Nice tiramisu with rich coffee flavour. To be perfect misses mascarpone (or it was too little)

Nice place

2. Villa records

The course ends here because this is the kind of bar that earns the walk back. Villa records sits on the night side of Garosu-gil, where the crowd thins out and the music takes over. DJ sets run on weekends, and the bartenders work with enough care that the second round usually tastes better than the first.

Crew's note

I picked this corner before you arrived.

What visitors say

A very spacious bar in Sinsa with top-notch service from both the staff and bartenders. The drinks were well-crafted and tasted great. A sol…

Food was nothing special but the cocktails and ambiance make this a must see space. DJ sets over the weekend are perfect for the night, and…

The walk between

The walk between the two cuts through the part of Garosu-gil where the flagship stores and new cafe openings are concentrated. You'll pass the DJI and Hasselblad space if you time it after the 20th.

  • Start the coffee stop mid-afternoon so you have time to move through the street before the dinner crowd arrives.
  • Save Villa records for after dark. The weekend DJ sets give the space a different rhythm than weekday evenings.

FAQ

Does this route work on a weekday, or is it better saved for the weekend?
Weekdays keep the bar quieter and the coffee spot easier to claim. Weekends add the DJ sets at Villa records, which changes the mood but also brings more people to both stops.
How does the food hold up if I'm planning this as a dinner replacement?
The bar serves food, but the consensus leans toward cocktails and atmosphere over the plates. If you're hungry, eat before you arrive or plan a third stop in between.
