Seoul or Busan? What a Day With a Local Friend Looks Like in Each (2026)

Seoul or Busan? Same idea, a local friend for the day. Two very different days.

If you are choosing between Seoul and Busan, or trying to fit both into one trip, this is the honest comparison from our side. We now have Crew members in both cities. The structure of a hangout is identical. What changes is the city itself, and that changes what a four-hour block can hold.

The short version

  • Seoul: most of our Crew lives here. Dense subway, short hops, two or three neighborhoods in one afternoon.
  • Busan: a smaller Crew, so fewer open dates. The sea is never far, markets are the evening, and areas sit farther apart, so one or two spots per block.
  • Price: identical in both cities. From $25 per hour, 4-hour minimum, so a booking starts from $100.
  • Both cities on one trip: two bookings with two Crew members, set up in the same chat.

What a Seoul day has looked like

Recent days our Seoul Crew spent with travelers: a photo booth stop after dinner, hanbok mirror selfies, a campus walk with iced drinks on the steps, raccoons and meerkats at an animal café, sunset over the Han from the 63 Building. The common thread is movement. You pick a direction in the chat, and the subway does the rest.

What a Busan day has looked like

And in Busan: bare feet on Gwangalli sand with the bridge behind, the Songdo cable car with its glass floor, a playground stop that ran long, a market evening in Haeundae with a lobster picked out on the spot. The common thread is the water and a slower clock. Getting from one area to the next takes longer than in Seoul, so the good Busan days stay in one or two places and let them breathe.

Who you meet

Every Crew member has a page with photos and their city, and you start chatting right there. In Seoul you have the widest choice. In Busan the Crew is small and growing, so if your dates are fixed, message earlier than you would for Seoul. Either way, nobody is charged until a Crew member has confirmed.

What it costs

The same in both cities. The fee covers your Crew member's time plus chat help before and during your trip. Food, drinks, tickets, and transport around the city for both of you are on you, in Seoul and in Busan alike. We wrote the full breakdown once for Seoul and once for Busan, and the numbers are the same.

Doing both

The KTX takes about two and a half hours between the two cities, so plenty of travelers do Seoul first and Busan after, or the other way round. A local friend in each city means two bookings with two Crew members, and the same chat handles both. One traveler has already brought a Seoul Crew member along for a Busan day. Whether that works depends on schedules and travel costs, so ask and we will tell you straight.

How to choose

We will not pick for you, but here is how we would think about it. If you want to see a lot and switch moods during the day, Seoul gives you more Crew to choose from and more ground per hour. If you want the sea, a market dinner, and a day that does not rush, Busan is built for that. Tell your Crew member what you are into in the chat, and the city sorts itself out.

FAQ

Can I have the same Crew member in both cities?
Sometimes. It depends on that person's schedule and on travel costs, which are discussed openly before anything is confirmed. The default is one Crew member per city.
I only have one free day. Which city should it be?
The one you are already in. A 4-hour hangout is not worth a five-hour round trip on its own. If your trip is Seoul-based, meet someone from the Seoul Crew; if you are staying in Busan, meet someone there.
Are evenings different between the two cities?
In Seoul an evening often ends in a photo booth, a noraebang room, or a late café. In Busan it leans toward the beach promenade and the market stalls. Both work well for a block that runs into the night, as long as the finish time is set in the chat.
