Study zone by day, quiet drinking spots by night.
Why NORYANGJIN, why now
Noryangjin was selected in January 2026 for Seoul City's Local Brand Commercial District Development Project, a 2-year program to rebrand the Mannaro strip as a youth healing zone with a photogenic plaza, festival programming, and curated local F&B, sparking fresh cafe and bar openings in an area previously known only for the fish market and 고시원 culture.
1. Bar Tenuto
- 37 Gukjegeumyung-ro 2-gil, Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul
- 4.5 · 83 reviews · 와인바
Bar Tenuto opens the course because it's a whisky bar that sets a particular tempo. This is a place that plays black-and-white films and jazz all the time, so the mood is already decided before you order. I like starting nights here when someone's coming in from work or just off the subway, when they need the transition built into the stop itself.
Crew's note
I ordered the tasting set before you came. You'll like the third one.

2. Yamarech Ethiopian Restaurant
- 52 Noryangjin-ro 8-gil, Dongjak District, Seoul
- 4.7 · 103 reviews · 클럽
Yamarech closes the course because it's food you won't rush, and it's rare enough in Seoul that it feels like discovery even when it isn't. The tibs and injera come out slow, made fresh by one woman running the kitchen, so this is where the night lands. If you're still talking, you'll have twenty minutes for Ethiopian coffee at the end.
Crew's note
You'd walk past this. That's why I'm here.

The walk between
The walk between them stays on the Mannaro strip, the stretch Seoul City just green-lit for the rebrand. You'll pass a few new cafes with their lights still on, maybe the edges of the plaza construction, the in-between feeling of a neighborhood mid-renovation.
- Start with the whisky tasting set at Tenuto if you're not sure what you want yet. The chicken comes out a little slow but the bartenders are professional and kind, so you won't feel rushed.
- At Yamarech, go for the vegetarian platter if you're sharing, or the tibs if you're not. The place has wet wipes so you can eat with your hands properly, and the wait is long enough that you'll want to settle in.
FAQ
- How long should I expect to wait for food at Yamarech?
- Service can stretch because dishes are prepared to order by a solo operator. The Ethiopian coffee ceremony takes around twenty minutes on its own, so budget extra time if you want the complete meal.
- Is this course better for a date or a solo night out?
- Both stops work solo or paired. Tenuto has a bittersweet, after-work mood that suits one person with a book or two people catching up. Yamarech's hand-eating setup and homey ambiance tilt slightly more social, but plenty of visitors dine in alone.
